“Hold your breath,
Make a wish,
Count to three…
Come with me and you’ll be
in a world of pure imagination”

My second favorite movie of all time is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I’ve watched it at least a hundred times. Each time I watch it, pure imagination is unleashed in me.
I just read the sad news that Gene Wilder has passed away.
Mr. Wilder made many incredible movies. But, for me the character of Willy Wonka ignited something beautiful and wild in my imagination. There was a gentle spark of madness and gladness that spoke to my creative spirit. The wild eyed embracing of impossibility (and chocolate) struck a chord, it sparked my curiosity. Mr. Wilder brought to life a literary icon that was was more about mischief than mundane, I like that!!
Thank you Mr. Wilder for making art that made me want to be a music maker and a dreamer of dreams.
That was more valuable than a golden ticket.
Rest in Peace.
